Sardinia born and UK based ShakaRoot is back with a Reggae Roots track! Breathe is an open invitation to let go and to concentrate on the positive side of life, to talk to the universe and know that Reggae music will always be our guiding star, in high and low tides. The song focuses on the breathing element and it comes from a reasoning. ShakaRoot says, "When I lost my mother a few years ago, I immediately felt a heavy chest which impacted my breathing and made it difficult for a long time. The song comes from the need to express how I feel about this fundamental living routine. Breathing can be a great feeling, just like drinking water and singing, and I wanted to celebrate that feeling with this song. I did not want to have a negative relationship with this element." ShakaRoot worked on the song throughout his recovery from Covid-19 and added the very inspired verses after recovery, in January 2022. He says. "This experience allowed me to chering the breathing element once again and the whole song reflects on this aspect. But it also talks about the need of letting your dreams breathe... your ideas... in order to see them through it is important not to get stuck on them but to let them breathe, just like the reggae legendary musicians have taught us, to give space to the track..."
ShakaRoot is currently adding the final touches to his brand new album Jah Musician. Extracts from the album have already been played at various radio programmes such as David Rodigan's Crate Classics on the BBC 1Xtra, Soul Shakedown Party with Pier Tosi and Run the Track! with John and Felix Masouri plus many more...
